Speaking to reporters before the inaugural session of the 9th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) under the theme of “Promoting Peace and Sustainable Development in Asia”, H.E. Mr. Chheang Vun, Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chairman of the Cambodian delegation attending the APA plenary session, said at Sokha Siem Reap Hotel and Convention Center on 28 November 2016 that Cambodia directly went through a painful experience of war, and the country’s present-day hard-fought peace and development has become a very critical experience for APA member countries, who have selected the Kingdom of Cambodia as the venue for the APA plenary session because they believed it is now a peaceful place so as to learn more and better understand about Cambodia’s experience in seeking peace and development.

H.E. Mr. Chheang Vun, Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Head of the Cambodian delegation attending the 9th plenary session of the APA, spoke to reporters at Sokha Siem Reap Hotel and Convention Center after the 2nd Executive Council Meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly:
