Vientiane, Lao PDR, 19 October 2024 — Prior to the official opening ceremony of the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45), Samdech Maha Rathasapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, together with the Heads of AIPA Member Parliaments, Heads of Delegations of AIPA Observer Parliaments, and AIPA Development Partners, paid a courtesy call on Honorable Dr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and President of AIPA-45, this morning.

The President of the AIPA-45 extended a warm welcome and deep gratitude to all the participating delegates, reflecting the bond of strong solidarity, friendship, and cooperation among the AIPA and ASEAN families in contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity for the peoples in the region and beyond.

Samdech Khuon Sudary extended congratulations and appreciation for the meaningful reception and organization of the 45th AIPA General Assembly, wishing the Lao National Assembly success in achieving the expected results.

Samdech Rathasapheathika Thipadei also expressed deep gratitude to the Lao National Assembly for the warm and friendly welcome extended to the high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation since their arrival in Vientiane. She praised Vientiane as a beautiful city rich in cultural and historical heritage, further strengthening the bonds between the two nations.
