Phnom Penh, 11 December 2024 – The National Assembly held its third training course on drafting talking points and speeches on Wednesday with some 60 officials working in international relations, protocol and information taking part.

“Speeches must be short and clear, with each paragraph focusing on a precise idea,” said H.E. Dr. Keo Piseth, Cabinet Chief of the National Assembly President.

Drafting speeches and remarks for leaders is crucial, he told an opening ceremony, stressing the need for accurate and up-to-date information.

The workshop on Wednesday included group discussions on topics such as opening speeches, keynote addresses and bilateral talks.

Led by H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly, it also covered aligning content with themes and contexts relevant to audiences — as well as national and international issues.

He praised the abilities and teamwork of participants, noting admirable results despite time constraints. He offered critical feedback for further development and urged trainees to continue improving their skills.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates to the trainees.

Dr. Vannarith has been conducting the workshops since October.
