Siem Reap, 8 February 2025 – A high-level Hungarian parliamentary delegation led by Hon. Ms. Marta Matrai, First Deputy President of the Hungarian National Assembly, visited several iconic temples in Siem Reap on Saturday.
The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Bun Tharith, Member of Parliament for Siem Reap Constituency and Member of the National Assembly Commission on Human Rights, Complaints Reception and Investigation, and Inspection, along with H.E. Ms. Manny Rainsy, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, leaders of the Siem Reap Provincial Hall, and officials from the NA Secretariat-General.
During their visit, the delegation toured Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Bayon, Neak Poen, and Kravan temples. The visit underscores the strong cultural and diplomatic ties between Cambodia and Hungary, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Siem Reap.
The visit precedes the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Hungary. This milestone marks seven decades of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, with ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural, economic, and political ties.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Hungarian delegation to experience the historic and cultural significance of the ancient temples and to discuss potential areas of collaboration in heritage conservation and tourism development.
