Phnom Penh, 3 June 2025 — The Congress of the National Assembly and the Senate resumed its meeting under the chairmanship of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Chair of the Congress, to deliberate on the third agenda item concerning the agriculture sector.
After spending more than 16 hours — from 8:00 in the morning until 12:25 a.m. — deliberating and approving the two previous agenda items, namely the Social Protection System and the Informal Economy, the Congress reconvened on Tuesday morning to deliberate on the agriculture sector.
The second day of the Congress was attended by 60 senators and 119 members of the National Assembly, with the participation of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, accompanied by members of the Royal Government and experts who delivered interventions before the Congress, along with representatives of allied political parties serving as members of the Supreme Consultation and Recommendation Council.
This first-ever Congress of the National Assembly and the Senate marked a historic event serving the supreme interests of the nation and the people, in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Law on the Organization and Functioning of the Congress of the National Assembly and the Senate, as well as the internal regulations of both legislative bodies.
The Congress also reflects a spirit of responsibility and close cooperation between the legislative and executive branches, together with relevant stakeholders, in pursuit of the supreme national interest and public welfare.
The event was widely broadcast live through numerous state and private media outlets and institutional platforms, allowing the public to follow and better understand the proceedings.
