Phnom Penh, 8 September 2025 — Samdech Maha Rathasapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, on Monday morning presided over a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee to review and approve several agenda items.

As a result, the Standing Committee approved the convening of an extraordinary session of the 7th Legislature on 15 September 2025 to discuss and adopt the draft law on the approval of the Addendum to the Treaty on the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANWFZ), following a request by the Royal Government.

The meeting also approved the 2026 expenditure plan of the National Assembly, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Economy and Finance for inclusion in the national budget, in line with the Financial Management Law 2026.
