Phnom Penh, 11 July 2026 — H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly Advisory Council, on Monday delivered a keynote address at a symposium marking the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cambodia.
Held under the theme "China–Cambodia Exchanges on the Governance of the Communist Party of China," the symposium brought together representatives from the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, academia, and other sectors.
In his keynote address, Dr. Chheang Vannarith congratulated the CPC on its 105th anniversary and commended its remarkable achievements, attributing China's development to the Party's visionary leadership, institutional resilience, internal unity, and the enduring trust and support of the Chinese people.
He also congratulated the Cambodian People's Party on its 75th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of relations between the two ruling parties, expressing confidence that their partnership would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
He noted that both parties have demonstrated strong resilience and political maturity, making significant contributions to peace, stability, national development, and the growing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Cambodia and China.
Looking ahead, Dr. Chheang Vannarith emphasized that the “Cambodia–China Ironclad Friendship,” built on mutual political trust and practical cooperation, will be further strengthened through expanded people-to-people exchanges and deeper mutual understanding between the two nations.
He also encouraged greater engagement between Cambodian and Chinese scholars and experts to promote knowledge sharing, strengthen policy dialogue, and expand long-term cooperation in emerging fields.
Referring to remarks by Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin, Dr. Chheang Vannarith said the comparison of Cambodia–China relations to the enduring stone carvings of Angkor Wat and the ever-flowing Lancang–Mekong River aptly reflects the strength and continuity of bilateral ties.
He further noted that the newly established Cambodia Research Network within the Office of the Council of Ministers and the National Assembly will serve as an important platform for expanding research collaboration and policy dialogue with Chinese counterparts while helping both countries seize new opportunities in technology, innovation, and economic development.
The event featured remarks by H.E. Ek Sam Ol, President of the Cambodia–China Friendship Association; H.E. Suos Yara, Chairman of the National Assembly's Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media; H.E. Dr. Chheng Kimlong, President of the Asian Vision Institute; and H.E. Dr. Kin Phea, Director-General of the International Relations Institute of Cambodia.
