Cambodian and Hungarian Parliamentary Secretariats Strengthen Cooperation Following MoU Signing

Budapest, 27 October 2025 — H.E. Dr. Keo Piseth, Permanent Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly and Chief of the Cabinet of the President of the National Assembly, met with H.E. György Such, Director-General of the Hungarian National Assembly, on Monday afternoon in Hungary.

The discussion, also attended by H.E. Khuon Davith, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Assembly, and H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Assembly, focused on enhancing cooperation and ensuring the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two National Assemblies and their respective Secretariats-General.

During the official and friendly visit to Hungary, Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, and H.E. László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, signed the MoU on Parliamentary Cooperation and Partnership between the two National Assemblies.

At the Secretariat-General level, a MoU on Cooperation between the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly of Cambodia and the Office of the Hungarian National Assembly was signed by H.E. Dr. Keo Piseth, representing H.E. Leng Peng Long, Secretary-General of the National Assembly of Cambodia, and H.E. György Such, Director-General of the Hungarian National Assembly.

The two MoUs mark a significant milestone in advancing parliamentary cooperation between Cambodia and Hungary, aiming to foster more dynamic and comprehensive collaboration for the benefit of both institutions, countries, and peoples.

Areas of cooperation include the exchange of parliamentary delegations, engagement between committees and friendship groups, mutual support in regional and international forums, and the sharing of best practices in legislative work, joint research, digital transformation, training, and capacity building for Members of Parliament and Secretariat-General officials.

Both sides expressed their commitment to work closely to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of the MoUs, thereby contributing to the modernization, efficiency, and mutual understanding between the two legislatures.
